花を見る春には夜のことは思いません、それに引きかえ月を見る秋は昼のことは思いません

When I look at the flowers in spring, I don't worry about the night; when I look at the moon in autumn, I don't 

think about the daytime.

引きかへて：そっくり取り換えて

 

(72) 花散らで月は雲らぬ世なりせば物を思はぬわが身ならまし

もしこの世が、花が散ったり月が雲に隠れたりしない世ならば、私は物事を心配しなくて済むだろう。

If this world were a world where flowers didn't fall and the moon didn't hide behind clouds, I wouldn't have to 

worry about things.

まし：反実仮想の表現。事実とは反対のことを想像する。

 

(73) たぐひなき花をし枝に咲かすれば桜に並ぶ木ぞなかりける

たぐいない花をば枝に咲かせる桜にならぶ木はありません。

There is no other tree that can compare to cherry trees, which make bloom illustrious flowers on their 

branches.

 

(74) 身をわけて見ぬ梢なく尽くさばやよろづの山の花の盛りを

見られない梢がないように自分の分身を作ってでも、すべての山の満開の花を見尽くしたいです

Even if I create my own avatar so that there is no treetop that I can't see, I want to see all the flowers in full 

bloom on every mountain.

 

(75) 桜咲く四方の山辺を兼ぬるまにのどかに花を見る心地する

四方の山の辺を心配して歩いたけれど、そのうち長閑に花を見る心地がしてきました。

I walked around the mountain sides with anxiety about the cherry blossoms, but eventually I felt a sense of 

relaxation looking at the flowers.

兼ぬ：兼ねる。予期する。先の事を心配する。わたる。

 

(76) 花に染む心のいかで残りけん捨て果ててきと思ふ我が身に

この世の何もかも放棄した私に、桜の美しさを愛でる心はどれだけ残っているだろうか。

Being a person who abandon anything in this world, how much of my heart that appreciate the beauty of the 

cherry blossoms remains?
